You will not have to do a thing. I am highly trained in directing you to make sure you are highlighted into the most complimentary poses and facial expressions…and all you have to do is follow my directions. Getting the best images of you is a priority and I want you to believe that “I have your back” so all you need to do is relax and have fun.
I have photographed women from their early 20s to those who are in their late 80s and into their 90s. I have photographed women of all sizes, weights, and shapes. And, first of all, I will celebrate you and make sure that I SEE YOU, YOU ARE IMPORTANT, YOU ARE ENOUGH, YOU ARE PERFECT before I ever start taking any images. We will discuss any concerns you have, or anything you’d like to tone down, or hide, during the Pre-Consultation. I will keep that in mind as I take capture your images.
Then, I want you to just relax because I know how to create magic with my lens. I have spent years studying posing and composition to achieve the images that will most compliment you and show the most beautiful ‘you’ that you’ve ever thought possible. When I look at you through my lens, I believe you are beautiful! My intention is to create images that show how truly beautiful you are, all while giving you a true pampering and celebrity-type portrait session experience!
We will talk about any concerns you have in your Pre-consultation session. I will ask you about whether you want me to Photoshop out any scars, or cellulite, or fix anything you are self-conscious about. I will keep your concerns in mind once we start taking images. I am a big advocate for celebrating what you truly look like and will hesitate to do too much alterations in Photoshop to where you no longer look like yourself. I will also make sure that my posing directions during your session will most compliment you and work with your concerns.
Absolutely! My number one goal is to make sure that you are thoroughly prepared and relaxed for your shoot so you can stay really excited! I take extra care to walk you through these 4 important steps:
A Pre-Consultation Session -Each Session will start with an in-person (at the studio) consult to discuss everything you will need to know about the session. I will be listening intently to hear about what you’d like to do. This will be a time when you will be able to see the studio, review the products I offer, discuss and ask any questions about my pricing, and determine if you feel that I am the right photographer for you. Then, if I get the go-ahead, we’ll schedule your 3 important session dates: 1) your In-Home Styling session (Eloquence only), 2) your Portrait Session date, and 3) your Reveal & Ordering date.
From my years of experience, I have found that speaking in person does so much more for you than having this discussed over the phone. However, in some cases, a phone consultation might be necessary if you are out of town. So, I will be happy to schedule either a phone or Skype session to discuss all of the above. We can discuss everything over some coffee/tea and a few snack items. I’m going to want to make sure whether you might have any allergies so I know that we will have some special treats for you during your session. Some clients bring their own snacks because they have certain favorite ones. I’ll also want to know your favorite “I always have to dance to this music when I hear it”! because I find it helps to enjoy your session when you’re hearing your favorite music during your session.
An In-Home Styling Session – When I realized that many clients began to feel anxious and nervous right before their session because they started to feel a bit overwhelmed with “what should I wear?”, I started doing In-Home Style Consultations. I come to your home! We’ll concentrate on what looks best on you (fitted clothes are better than loose), colors (solid is better than large prints), and pick out some accessories. We will work together to figure out 4-5 outfits you have in your closet to figure out 3-5 different styles. We could also look through the Rent-the-Runway website (amazing outfits to rent for unbelievable prices), or discuss shopping for some new items, or maybe see if you have friends you can borrow some pieces from so we can make sure you are really excited about your upcoming session. Then, I photograph each of the outfits we put together so you will be able to remember what goes with what! Then, all you’ll need to do is grab your outfits and head to the studio so you can come relaxed and excited to do your session!
Your Portrait Session – As soon as you arrive, we’ll make you feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. We’ll have some snacks and drinks available, and we’ll want to have your favorite music playing! We’ll look through the outfits again, and decided the order of what we’ll shoot. Then, you’ll work with our Makeup Artist for about 60-90 minutes, and then we’ll start shooting. You won’t even need to worry about how to pose because I will be directing you through your most complimentary poses the entire time in order to create the best portrait possible of you and keeping in mind the products you told us you were interested in during the Pre-Consultation. During the Personal Branding Session, we will make sure your images addresses your needs. After your session, we’ll schedule your Reveal & Ordering Session date.
An In-Person Reveal & Ordering Session – Your Review & Ordering session will be scheduled for 10-14 business days after your portrait session to allow for the production and enhancing of your session images. My goal will be to create the most gorgeous images you’ve ever seen so that you will want to have them all! But, do not expect any high-pressure sales…there is no obligation to purchase anything. I want the images to speak for themselves!
You will be presented with a slide show of the best 20-30 images on our 106” projection screen. I will be showing your images using a specially designed software to help you easily select your favorite images for your wall art, prints, albums, or social media websites. We can even construct a grouping of images using your own wall(s) to show you how your images will look in your own home, and to help determine the best sizes for that area. It takes all of the guesswork out of how the products can work with your home decor! We highly recommend that you take some time to review the Products & Pricing Guide prior to your portrait and ordering session. It will help you gather your ideas, start to get an idea of our products, help you define your budget, and help us know what products we will be designing ahead of time so we make sure we capture all of the necessary images. This appointment is designed specifically for choosing and ordering your products. Purchases need to be paid in full at this time. Or, a payment plan can be set up with a 10% down payment.
All decision makers must be in attendance. Requests for a second Reveal & Ordering session will require an additional $150 fee.
I have a lovely room in my home designated as my portrait studio where I will be able to completely concentrate on your needs without any distractions, and giving you a relaxed portrait session. There is a separate dressing room to get ready in. You will also be offered complimentary champagne, waters and chocolates.
If you are looking for a Personal Branding session, I prefer to have the individuals come to my home studio. However, if your business will be having several individuals getting updated headshots, I will be happy to accommodate doing the session at your business for an additional travel and set up fee of $100.
Most certainly, yes. That is one of the best parts of the entire experience that I love to offer my clients. It’s such a wonderful experience to sit and be pampered and transformed into the “you” that you’ve always wanted to be. Also, it is very important to me to make sure that you are comfortable and happy with your hair and makeup before we go into the shooting portion of your session. I want you to be happy, and it’s perfectly OK to ask for adjustments.
I feel it’s very important to make sure my Makeup Artist knows as much about your skin and hair type prior to you working with them, so, prior to your session, I will ask you to fill in a Makeup Disclosure Form. This helps the makeup artist know ahead of time about any pertinent information that she may need to know about your skin, such as what type of skin you have, what type of hair you have, if you are allergic to any cosmetics, etc.
In order to reserve a portrait session date (so no one else can take your date), a Creative Session Fee will be required and must be paid in full before scheduling a date can be set.
The Creative Fee covers the following items:
All products or digital files are NOT included in this Session Fee. All prints, folio boxes, wall art, albums, etc., must be purchased separately. Cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Cashier’s Check and Money Orders are accepted.
I want you to be and stay relaxed about your session. It’s very important to me to make sure you know that I will be working with you on every step to make sure you are prepared and that you have everything you need to be able to come to the studio for your session EXCITED and looking forward to your session.
If you wanted to get started ahead of time, here are a few tips and requests that I give to everyone:
Part of my service to you is to arrange an In-Home Styling consultation appointment done at your home so we can go through your existing clothes, and work out what outfits will work best and be the most appropriate for the kind of portrait you are looking to create. We can even spend some time going through my favorite outfit rental website – Rent-The-Runway – you will be amazed at what outfits and dresses you can find at unbelievable prices.
Then, there are a few basics that I will be asking you to bring as well…here is a list ahead of time that will help you:
What to Bring & Wear – Women:
These are ONLY suggestions from which to choose, you don’t have to bring all of them. We will look through what you bring before you go into makeup…
What to Wear – Men:
Eloquence portrait sessions generally last about 3-4 hours from start to finish which also includes the 60-90 minutes you will be with our Professional Hair & Makeup Artist. And, for a Personal Branding session, each individual’s session will last approximately 2-3 hours (to include styling and/or hair & makeup).
I like to arrange at least three solid looks to get started. Depending on how much time we have will depend on if we make it through a fourth look.
The selection of photos takes approximately 60-90 minutes. This will take place about 10-14 business days after your portrait session.
ALL DECISION MAKERS MUST BE PRESENT AT THIS APPOINTMENT. There is absolutely no obligation to purchase any images, and there will be no high-pressure sales – I don’t like that either! But, it is always my goal to create the most amazing images of you that you will want them all! I have worked my prices to work for all kinds of budgets and I will ensure that you walk away from the experience happy and satisfied. However, if you request an additional ordering session, there will be an additional $150 fee.
We love children and know you’d love to have them at the session, BUT we want you to be able to relax and concentrate on the beautiful images and products that we will create for you, so we ask kindly that you arrange childcare, or we can schedule your appointment when your children are in school.
On average, you will be reviewing 25-30 images. We will shoot many more than thirty images; however, I will narrow them down and only show the best from which to choose. I specialize in Portraiture retouching and I use special magazine style airbrushing techniques. I will carefully polish each image before it is printed.
Purchased Images: All the images you’ve purchased will remain archived for 3 years. Requests to re-order images more than 60 days after the Reveal & Ordering appointment, requires a minimum order of $250.
Unpurchased Images: Any images not purchased in your Reveal & Ordering appointment are purged from our network server 60 days after the Reveal & Ordering Session in order to free up space on our network server.
Most of my clients invest anywhere between $975-1,750. Remember, everyone’s needs are different – some spend more and some spend less.
I offer two purchasing options:
A La Carte Menu
Create Your Own Legacy Collection option is a two step process:
Quality, custom photography created by a specially trained portrait artist is not for everyone. Our prices reflect the quality products, professional printing labs, and skills that have taken years to learn in order to continue the premiere service we provide to our clients.
Yes. There are three options from which to choose to receive digital files:
I am a full service print studio…that means that my studio strongly advocates and encourages everyone to print their images.
Many may not agree with me, but there are SO many reasons why I don’t prefer to just offer images on a CD. Here are just a couple of reasons:
Yes, I offer a Payment Plan and it is 100% Interest Free! It can be set up with the following criteria:
Considering that some albums may take up to 4 weeks to produce, it’s best to begin scheduling your 4 sessions (Pre-consultation, In-Home Styling, portrait, and In-person Reveal & ordering sessions) at least 6-8 weeks before you will need your gifts/products for an anniversary, birthday, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc.
Every client will be asked to sign a Model Release so that I may use their images in my Marketing, Advertising, and Website. However, this is 100% optional. If you express any very strong concerns (no questions asked) about having your images online, I will be happy to honor your concerns and not put any of your images online or in my marketing materials. You will need to tell me that during your Consultation appointment.
Yes. I can arrange a gift voucher for any amount that you would like to give as a gift for someone by clicking here.
Due to the nature of the custom designed products that are unique for each client, and the costs I must incur to my professional labs, I can not allow any refunds or returns after purchasing your portraits or products. However, if you are truly unhappy with any products, I will be happy to work with you to either recreate your products, or give an appropriate credit for a future session, but there are no refunds.
Unfortunately, I do not offer review or sales through an online gallery. And, actually, most of my clients have commented that they were thankful that I was sitting with them during the in-person Reveal & Ordering appointment to help guide them in their decisions, or else they may have been too overwhelmed and they are glad they don’t have to do it all themselves.
However, once you have completed your choices, and the studio has received full payment, I can offer uploading your purchased images to a client specific online gallery that will be connected to a professional lab where you will able to purchase more prints at a reduced cost. I will strongly encourage you to print through a professional lab because big-box stores do not have the professional equipment that will recognize the embedded color ICC profiles in your images, and you may receive prints back where the colors are not correct. It’s not uncommon that big-box stores prints will be too green or too magenta.
Go up to the ‘Contact’ page on the Main Menu and fill in the Contact form and I will call you as soon as possible. Or you can call me directly at 878-313-3927 or email me at Portraits@clareascani.com – to filter out the large amount of spam I receive, you will have to watch out for a return verification email (for the first time only) to click on a link which will push your email into my inbox. A Creative Session Fee of $400 (Eloquence) and $525 (Personal Branding) is due at the time of booking a session.
If bringing someone to your session will help you relax, you are welcome to bring someone. However, the studio’s space is a bit snug, but your guest will be allowed to join you. However, no one is allowed to capture any images using a cell phone or use any video capturing devices while you and I are in the process of creating your portraits, nor during your Reveal & Ordering session.
Depends On How Many Days Prior to the Session You Wish To Cancel: Once a Portrait Session date is determined and the Creative Fee has been paid, if you cancel five (5) or more calendar days before the reserved session date, 50% of the Creative Fee will be retained by the Photographer and 50% will be refunded to the Client. If you cancel less than five (5) days before the session date and, if the Photographer cannot fill that date with another client, the damages shall be retaining 100% of the Creative Fee in addition to any additional expenses incurred by the Photographer for the Client’s session, i.e., specific items requested to be purchased for Client, backdrops created, etc. (Photographer will provide proof of incurred expenses to Client for reimbursement.) In addition, if a client wants to still have a portrait session, there will be an additional rescheduling fee of $150.
Arriving Late To Your Session: Arriving late more than 15 minutes beyond scheduled start time will result in a shortened session and an abbreviated number of outfits in order to honor any sessions following yours. Arriving late more than 30 or more than the scheduled start time will result in Client’s session being cancelled, requiring Client to reschedule another date, and forfeiture of 100% of the Creative Fee. A rescheduled session date will require an additional $150 fee.
Life can come at us fast…. I understand when the timing of becoming ill is never when it’s convenient. But, please, contact me as soon as possible and please refrain from coming to the studio if you become ill. If you notify me at least 24-hours in advance that you are ill, I give you a one-time-only emergency reschedule date at no additional cost. If you arrive ill, and it is evident that you, or anyone is sick, I know that you will not be happy with your images, and I will ask that you return home and we will have to reschedule your session for another day.
Your portraits are an investment and an heirloom that should not be rushed. Please allow 3-4 weeks for products to be completed. Some custom designed album orders may take longer. You will be notified when your order is ready. If you are unable to pick up your order, we can discuss either delivering or shipping your order for an additional charge. Any orders not picked up by 30 days after being notified will be shipped and incur shipping costs to your credit card. In the event that the Postal delivery service does not take enough care during shipping Client’s package from our professional labs, and it arrives damaged, we will ask you to return the damaged item, and I will reorder your products promptly and without cost to you. But, you will have to understand that additional time is required for you to receive it, and that you will not hold the Photographer liable for this delay.
AND, THERE YOU HAVE IT! There will be a bit more to cover in your Pre-Consultation session, but these happen to be the most Frequently Asked Questions and I thought they would be helpful to you ahead of time.
